This started as a blog about training together as a family, in part to inspire other women & families to get involved. As female participation in jiu jitsu has increased, as we have grown as athletes and as we learned that families training together aren’t such an anomaly, the blog has evolved. Jen gets personal with posts on ambition, challenges & achievements in BJJ, CrossFit & with nutrition, while Tom's posts are more educational, informative and analytical in regards to training. On occasion you may hear from the kids.

Two Great Races!

Posted by Jen
I'm preparing to run in two incredible events during the month of October. If you've always wanted to run a 5K but haven't yet, I suggest these 2 events!

Michael's Special 5k, Runners Pushing Riders
Michael is a 17-year old boy diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. He has participated with his father, Jim Sayih, in community 5K runs since the age of 8, with his father either pushing him in his wheelchair or pulling him with a bicycle. Michael wants others to enjoy the thrill of Runners Pushing Riders with Disabilities and created this special run benefiting United Cerebral Palsey.
